IWC’s Laureus watches have been available for some time now. Over the years, the brand has released them in different collections, from Pilot’s watches to Portofino models and even some more experimental pieces. What stays consistent over the years is the blue dial and the link to Laureus Sport for Good, a global initiative that supports young people through sport. The new Pilot’s Watch Chronograph Laureus works on that same idea, this time as a limited edition of 1,000 pieces and part of IWC‘s 2026 releases. This year, the focus is on Futbalo Girls, a football programme in Germany aimed at increasing girls’ participation in the sport.
The Pilot’s Watch Chronograph Laureus sticks to the usual larger Pilot’s Chronograph format. It comes in a 43mm stainless steel case with a thickness of 14.8mm and is paired with a five-link stainless steel bracelet featuring IWC’s EasX-CHANGE system for quick strap changes. As with other Laureus editions, the dial comes in that recognisable sunray-brushed blue the series is known for. This is paired with silver-plated sub-dials and rhodium-plated hands, which keep the layout clear for quick and easy timekeeping. You get chronograph totalisers at 12 and 9 o’clock, small seconds at the bottom, and a day-date display at 3 o’clock. Its white Arabic numerals and luminous hands further enhance overall legibility without overcomplicating the dial.
Beating inside the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph Laureus is the IWC-manufactured calibre 69385, an automatic chronograph with a column-wheel design. It runs at 28,800 vibrations/hour (4Hz) and offers a power reserve of 46 hours. The chronograph measures elapsed hours, minutes, and seconds, with the minutes placed at 12 o’clock for easier reading. It also features hacking seconds, which helps when setting the time precisely. Visible through the sapphire caseback, the movement’s finishing includes circular graining and Geneva stripes.
Other details include a screw-in crown, a convex sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides, and a construction designed to keep the glass secure even under changes in air pressure. Water-resistance is 100 metres, and the steel caseback ring is engraved with the Laureus Foundation’s name, connecting it to the initiative.
